Poor 30%

So... 70% of me is leaning towards the I Will Change My Story and Write A New One -- Oh, And Draw A New Set of Pages Too! territory.

I have barely two weeks.

Trims and deleted scenes

I'm sad to report that I trimmed down my story, and ditched a truckload of characters, leaving only Tim, Pepper, Wilma (formerly known as Gemma), and the Kloss family. I felt I was too ambitious with my previous plans so I had to save myself from myself and compromise. HAHA.

Page 1
Little Tim has a busy afternoon. He paints pretty paintings. He sells them to the other villagers.
“Come and buy a painting for two cents apiece!” Little Tim exclaims.
But today is not a lucky day. Nobody comes to buy one.

Page 2
Suddenly, a small boy appears. “I like that one,” the boy says shyly. He points to a painting of an apple.
“It costs two cents,” Little Tim says.
But the boy does not have any money to pay. All he owns is a piece of simple white chalk. He looks very sad.
Little Tim is kind to him, so he agrees. “You take the painting. I take the chalk. I will use it to make more drawings.”
The boy smiles. “Oh thank you!” He gives Little Tim the chalk and says, “This chalk is magical. Your drawing will become real. So use it well!”

Page 3
When Little Tim comes home, his tummy is growling and rumbling. But there is no bread. No cookies. There is no food in the house!
Little Tim remembers the white chalk. He sighs and draws a cookie. He wishes he can eat it. And then, something magical happens.

Page 4
At the same time, a girl called Pepper comes in. Pepper is Little Tim’s best friend in the whole world. “Hi, Tim! What’s new?”
“Pepper, look!” Little Tim points to his cookie drawing. But the cookie does not look like a drawing anymore! Now, Little Tim can touch the cookie, move the cookie, and even eat the cookie! But…

Page 5
“BLECHHHH!”
It did not taste like a cookie at all!
“What’s wrong?” Pepper asks.
“It tastes like chalk!” Little Tim gags. He feels sick. And his tummy is still growling and rumbling.
So much for food, he thinks sadly.

Page 6
One day, Little Tim walks by the home of Mr and Mrs Kloss. Mr and Mrs Kloss are very snobby and very rich. Their house is the biggest in the village. Their garden is the greenest. They have many trees. But the trees are very tall. Only a giant can pluck the fruits from the trees.
Then Little Tim has an idea. He tells Pepper. They hatch a plan.

Page 7
At midnight, Little Tim and Pepper sneak out. They meet outside the garden of Mr and Mrs Kloss.
Little Tim takes out his magical chalk. He draws a very big balloon. Then they excitedly jump on the balloon. And finally, they’re up, up, up in the air!
Little Tim turns the balloon towards a tree. “Let’s get as many berries as we can!” They pluck berries here and there. They pluck as many berries as they can. Until there are no berries left!

Page 8
One day, Little Tim’s mother, Wilma, goes to see Mr and Mrs Kloss’ daughter, Jade. She is very ill. Mrs Kloss is crying; Mr Kloss is silent.
“She needs a berry potion,” Wilma says. Wilma is a very good Healer. “But berries are rare. The berries only grow at the cliffs in the mountain.”
Mr Kloss looks happy. “Why, we grow our own berries in our backyard!”

Page 9
But there are no more berries left! Mr Kloss is very angry. Mrs Kloss is still crying.
Little Tim and Pepper feel guilty about what they did. They tell Wilma the truth. Wilma is also very angry.
But Little Tim has another idea. A good one. He draws a big balloon again. He jumps on it and flies to the mountain. He will find the berries no matter what.

Page 10
And he did! Little Tim takes as many berries as he can. Wilma makes a berry potion. Then Jade finally drinks the potion. Chug, chug, chug.
Soon, Jade is feeling better. Mrs Kloss stops crying. Mr Kloss is still angry at Little Tim for stealing the berries, but he also thanks him for helping Jade.

Page 11
And so Little Tim learns his lesson. It was not nice to steal. Even when your tummy is growling and rambling loudly. Little Tim is true to his word. He draws more and more drawings. And every day, he goes to the Village Square to sell them.

Tim selling his artwork

WIP of Page...3. Or something.
It took me two runs of Scott Pilgrim to finish the ground alone. I suck at this shit.

And my contrast. And postures! My drawings are always like still life, no movement, no life. I should practice harder. Le sigh. And how funny is it that Tim's selling paintings of random forest food? HAHA.

Meh. Skipped two days of school. Still no progress on the coding thing. I don't have a Plan B. Which is not...good.

But I'll live.

More WIPs: Daisy, Gemma

Yeah. Feet-less Gemma.

What I learned:

Color schemes are fucking harder than I thought. I spent the morning analyzing the colors in Disney and Pixar films -- Jasmine and Aladdin, Ariel, Pocahontas and John Smith, Woody and Buzz...

I suck at proportions, now I suck at drawing clothes too. They look so stiff. Haha.
